Information for dealers
cars.je is an independent information website for people buying a car in Jersey. It shows buyers what is advertised for sale on the island, with prices and comparisons, and sends them to the seller's own advert.
How listings are compiled
Twice a day an automated reader visits the public stock pages of Jersey dealers' websites, as any visitor can, and records the basic details of each vehicle advertised: make, model, year, price, mileage, fuel, gearbox, body and colour, with a link to the dealer's advert. It doesn't log in and follows each website's robots.txt. Every listing names the dealer, shows when it was last checked, and links to the dealer's own page for the full description. Photos are shown, credited to the dealer, to identify the vehicle advertised.
cars.je doesn't take enquiries for your vehicles, charge buyers or add fees: buyers contact you directly.
Corrections
We want every listing to match your advert. If something is wrong, tell us below and we aim to correct it within one working day. A stock feed (the one you give AutoTrader or your website supplier is fine) helps keep listings accurate.
Photos
Photos are credited to you and deleted from cars.je when the vehicle is no longer advertised. If you ask us in writing to stop showing your photos, we'll replace them with a placeholder and delete our copies within two working days. The vehicle's details and the link to your advert remain.
Independence
Listings, prices, price histories and comparisons are the same for every seller. Paid placements are labelled "Featured" or "Advert" and change only where a vehicle is shown, never what we say about it. Our terms explain how we handle complaints and notices.
